Dangers of Extreme Heat

Without warning, extreme heat can rapidly occur. Those who are at greater risk of extreme heat are older adults, children, and sick or overweight individuals. SERVPRO of Hendricks County would like to provide you with some tips of keeping cool this summer.

  • Find air conditioning.

  • Avoid strenuous activities.

  • Watch for heat illness.

  • Wear light clothing.

  • Check on family members and neighbors.

  • Drink plenty of fluids.

  • Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

  • Never leave people or pets in a closed car.

Find places in your community that offer a safe place to cool off. Drink lots of fluids and avoid heavy meals. Stay indoors and limit sun exposure. If you happen to stay outside apply sunscreen and a wear a wide-brimmed hat to prevent sunburn. SERVPRO of Hendricks County cares about your safety!
